Christmas Party at THE COUNTRY CLUB, Oh. My. God.

And OMG a blog entry that ISN'T about Haley, Nathan, or Austin!

Um yeah, the title says it all. On Friday, Kevin's firm had their annual Christmas Party at the local Country Club. Me and Kevin at THE COUNTRY CLUB. Funny as HELL, let me tell you. We really aren't the country club type as all of you out there know.

tFor the longest time we thought it would be only Kevin going because we didn't think we would be able to find a sitter for THREE KIDS for 3- 4 hours. A sitter that we knew and trusted. My mom has been helping out a lot with doctor appointments and that sort of thing so I hated to ask her to watch the kids for the Christmas Party but she is normally our one and only main sitter (I love you mom, Thank you!)

I believe it was Thursday when we found out that I WOULD BE ABLE TO GO WITH KEVIN. You know what that meant don't you?! I had to get my butt to the store to get a new outfit for the Christmas Party. I just had a baby and well I have been a SAHM for 4.5 years now, I don't own many "dress up" or "work" clothes.

Even though I just had a baby, I was actually looking forward to going shopping. I NEVER buy myself anything, EVER. I always buy for the kids when I do any "impulse" shopping, ALWAYS. I was also looking forward to shopping because I am 20 pounds below my pre pregnancy weight. That's always a good thing.

I ended up buying myself a black "holiday" shirt, "trendy" black pants, new earrings, new bracelets, new purse, new wallet, new black trouser socks, and new black shoes. It has been FOREVER since I bought myself THAT MUCH stuff. It felt really good to splurge on myself, oh so good. I KNEW I deserved it and I KNEW it was long overdue.

When I got home from my oh so fun shopping trip, Kevin was SO HAPPY for me, he nearly cried. Seriously. He KNOWS I never ever buy for myself. I mean MY GOD remember my maternity wardrobe that I talked about here?!

It was just the sweetest thing that Kevin was so damn happy for me and excited for me. Now THAT is love right there. I am one blessed woman.

On Friday night, my brother and his girlfriend came to the rescue and watched the kiddos for us so we could BOTH attend the party. I was SO EXCITED to be going out, getting dressed up, and getting the chance to meet Kevin's co workers finally.

Not to mention having my FIRST drink in more than a YEAR. It was open bar, gotta love that. I had myself a Long Island and one margarita. Truth be told, I wanted one more drink but I knew better because HELLO! HALEY DOESN'T sleep at night. I wasn't about to drink and not sleep AT ALL. No thanks.

The mingling was great, the drinks were oh so good, and the food, MY GOD, the food was AMAZING. The appetizers! The salad! The dinner! The dessert! Damn it was good! lol We were at the Christmas Party for THREE AND A HALF HOURS. And damn it was SO NICE to be with Kevin for those three and a half hours. MY GOD I miss him at night. It was also nice to do something different for a change. Most of the time our dates consist of dinner and/or a movie, it was nice to get "dressed up" and to get a chance to mingle with others with him.

It just happened and I am already ready for the NEXT Christmas Party! *grin*

Oh and one of the best parts of the entire night?

All the new employees, including Kevin, had to sing Christmas songs in front of everyone. Oh yeah, it was great!

PS I splurged but not TOTALLY, everything I got was on sale, big time. I got my new "winter" purse for 8 bucks! GO ME!

Sorry I am commenting almost a week later! Anyway, you look SO good! (I am totally being honest!) I had fat face for a few months after my youngest was born, it was not a pretty site... Good for you for taking care of yourself. You DO deserve it, and Kevin sounds like an amzing man.

very cool that you found such cute things for yourself. When I NEED to buy something for myself I can never find anything! But when I don't need/can't afford something I usually see quite a few things that catch my eye. Isn't that always the way??! Anyway, awesome that you are 20lbs below pre-pg weight. Maybe not sleeping has SOME benefits?! I'm glad you two enjoyed your night out as a couple and not just parents. makes a big difference.

That is awesome Kelly. As your kids get older you will find yourself buying more for yourself rather than them. My kids are 6 and 4 and I shop more for myself now :) I think I appreciate it more than they do since they really dont' care what they wear. I still like shopping for them but I enjoy getting clothes for myself to, especially when it's a good sale. You deserve it!
