Why Did God Make Mothers?

I thought this would be good for some laughs on a Monday morning -

The following are different answers given by school-age children to the given questions:

Why did God make mothers?
1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Think about it, it was the best way to get more people.
3. Mostly to clean the house.
4. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
3. He made my mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?
1. We're related.
2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What ingredients are mothers made of?
1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world, and one dab of mean.
2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string. I think.

What kind of little girl was your mom?
1. My mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?
1. His last name.
2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer? Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?
1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my mom eats a lot.
2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
3. My grandma says that mom didn't have her thinking cap on.

What's the difference between moms and dads?
1. Moms work at work and work at home, and dads just got to work at work.
2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
3. Dads are taller and stronger, but moms have all the real power cause that's who you gotta ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it and not me.

Thank God It's Friday!

Thank God it's Friday, this week has been long and hard. My Mothers Day really did me in, I had too much fun! On Saturday, I am meeting up with my good friend and diaryreader Jennifer ( Jen A ) - that will be really nice to meet her in person! I will be returning to the Mall that I was at for Mothers Day actually. We will be hitting Lane Bryant again ;) Luckily, both of us just have to drive about an hour or so in order to meet halfway. We plan to eat lunch and then do some shopping. Although, my shopping will be mainly window shopping only because I spent too much money last weekend. On Sunday, I plan to majorally clean house and go to the grocery store, typical weekend for moms out there. It will be nice to catch up around here with housework.

I finally got the new iP entry up and we have new pictures up on our family website - check it out if you are interested :)

Quotes of the Day

Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.
Maya Angelou

The world is full of women blindsided by the unceasing demands of motherhood, still flabbergasted by how a job can be terrific and torturous.

A Dose of Reality

Ok, I had a little too much fun on Mothers Day. When Monday morning came around, I got hit in the face with a dose of reality. I love my boys and I love being a full time mom - most of the time - but I would be lieing if I said it was easy. It certainly isn't the fantasy life that I thought it was before I had children. I just can't seem to get motivated this week for some reason. I feel yucky, icky, blah, and moody today. Gee, maybe it has something to do with good ol' Aunt Flow coming to see me this morning. Tomorrow is a new day. I thank GOD for that.

It's Official I Have Mom Brain!

Well, its official - I have MAJOR MOM BRAIN - pregnancy brain just carries over into mommyhood!!!! The other night I was getting ready to fix spaghetti for dinner and for the life of me I couldnt figure out why the turkey wouldnt come out of the package and why I couldnt put the spatula in it - then it hit me, DUH Kelly - it's still frozen!!!!!!!!!! What makes this even worse is that Kevin had bought some thawed turkey on his way home from work because we had both forgot to set the turkey out that morning! Boy, did I ever feel so stupid! LOL! Actually, looking back it has provided us with some good laughs :):) Isnt it amazing what can happen to our brains once we become moms? LOL! I have a ton of things like this that I have done in the last 2 years but I have somehow forgotten them all - pretty conveinent huh?

My Mothers Day full of eating, drinking cappuccinos, SHOPPING, and reading was SOOOOO much FUN! Hope everyone had a wonderful Mothers Day as well! We all deserve it! You will have to wait until my next iP diary entry for all the juicy and FUN details! I hope to post a new iP entry by the end of this week! We will also have new pics up very soon! Can you believe that Austin is already 5 months old?!?! We sure can't!

Oh yeah, thanks to Cara, I have finally figured out the whole comment thing, I cant post replies on here individually but I can just do it as a whole group -- incase you havent noticed, I have replied back to everyone, except from the very first post on my blog.

A Day Just For Me

Well, in a couple hours I will be leaving for the entire day all by myself - no bottles, no straw cups, no diapers, no wipes, no toys, just me, my Clay Aiken cd and my purse. This is a very big deal, rarely do I leave the house without kiddos and stuff in tote. After much discussion, I finally decided to have some "mommy time" today. Originally, we were going to spend the day as a family but after a pretty busy and stressful day yesterday, we decided I needed and deserved :) to get away today (yesterday, we drove to Springfield where I hosted a baby shower for my best friend). I didn't end up sleeping in today like I had planned because the boys slept really good last night and I felt refreshed this morning. As I type this entry, Austin is asleep in his bouncer, Nathan is eating some yogurt in his highchair and Kevin is making me my yummy breakfast! He is making me my favorite - which consists of french toast and chocolate milk! YUM YUM! He is also trying to use up all the meat we still have from when we tried and failed at the Atkins Diet. After my yummy breakfast, I plan to shower and start my fun day! I am actually going to drive today to the same city we drove to yesterday because I am pretty familiar with it and it has all my favorite stores there. I plan to hit the mall at noon, right when it opens up. I plan to go to Lane Bryant to buy me a couple pair of capri pants and buy me a new purse somewhere. After the mall, I plan to go to Barnes and Noble Bookstore, I could literally spend all day in there. I love bookstores and libraries, they really put me in a peaceful place. Of course while I am there, I plan to go to the cafe in there and get me a yummy coffee drink. I am normally not a coffee person but I LOVE cold cappuccino drinks! I am so excited for my day to start!
I hope all you moms out there have a wonderful Mothers Day today, you all deserve it!!!! Before I forget, I got three beautiful and special cards this morning from Kevin and the boys. Of course, they all brought tears to my eyes, I am so blessed to have my three boys! Inside the card from Kevin was a gift certificate for a day at the spa, I got the same thing last year and he knew I loved it so much! Ok, I am off to eat my yummy breakfast now.....................

All Good Things Must Come To An End

They say all good things must come to an end and thats exactly what happened last night with the series finale of "Friends". It's really hard to believe "Friends" is over. I am anxious to hear what everyone thought of it. I thought it was pretty good and it felt like good closure to me. They had me worried at first, I thought somehow Rachel and Ross weren't going to end up together, which would have been tragic - ok ok, tragic is a bit strong of a word but you know what I mean. It seems impossible to me that it was on for 10 years, I guess that means I am getting older........ My favorite storyline on "Friends" was of course Ross and Rachel, although my favorite characters were Joey and Phoebe - they are make your stomach hurt kind of funny. I can't wait to start watching, "Joey" in the fall, I hope it does really well for him. Of course Kevin and I carried on the tradition of eating pizza on Thursday nights, so much for getting real huh? Yes, we gorged ourselves on Digornia Thin Crust Pizza (supreme of course!) and had a huge bowl of Rocky Road ice cream. It sometimes feels so good to be bad! I can't live off of water and diet pills, sorry. It will be really weird to not watch "Friends" anymore, it was one of the very few sitcoms that I feel the need to watch every week. Something tells me that we still carry on the tradition of eating pizza every Thursday night.

Is It Mother's Day Yet?

First things first, I have tried atleast 5 different pictures for my blog and I am still not happy. They are all pretty good pictures in real life and then when we have to change it a bit to make it fit for the blog, it screws it up totally - stay tuned for a decent picture of me, one that you can actually tell what I look like, LOL! So far, they have all been either too small or way too big!

Is it Mother's Day yet? I am so ready for it! I think Mother's Day should be a monthly thing not a yearly thing! My plans so far for the day are to sleep in late (my hubby wants me too) - sleeping in for me is 8 or 9 though - and Kevin is making me a yummy breakfast! I am torn on whether to spend the day with my family or have a day all to myself - I am leaning towards running away for the day.

Who knew blogs could be so much fun? Its been a blast setting this thing up! Blogs are definetly the new black as Heather says!

I could really use a Starbucks Capp right now. Last night was horrible! If it wasn't Austin waking us up it was Nathan. Unfortunately, when I get woken up, I have a really hard time going back to sleep, even if I am exhausted. I can't wait to sleep in on Sunday morning!

Thank you to everyone who posted to me from my first blog entry! What a warm welcome! I am still getting used to this whole blog thing, especially the comments, but THANK YOU everyone!

Eventually, I will be able to post to you all individually!
