We all already know how BAD my Thanksgiving "Day" was, I don't need to discuss all of THAT again but thankfully our Thanksgiving "Night" turned out to be a really nice time. At the last minute we changed our minds about going over to my mom's house for Thanksgiving dinner. All day long we were thinking we wouldn't be going because Austin was still very sick but we played Russian Roulette with Austin's butt and just went for it. We are risk takers like that. They REALLY wanted us to come, even knowing about all the poop and puke that would probably happen. We DESPERATELY needed something good to happen before the day was over, so we decided to go.
My dad (step) made a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner while my mom HAD to work the holiday. She is a nurse and almost always has to work on Thanksgiving. Yuck. Thankfully Austin's butt and stomach cooperated with the Thanksgiving dinner by doing all of his puking and pooping RIGHT BEFORE and RIGHT AFTER the official dinner. You should have seen how FAR we had Austin's highchair moved back from all the food and table. We DID NOT want him throwing up all over the food that dad had worked hard on.
It ended up being me, Kevin, the boys, my mom, dad, younger brother and his girlfriend. It is always so nice to see my boys with their "Uncle Joe" and their "maw maw" and "pa pa". They all have a very close relationship. We ended up eating the wonderful meal that my dad had made us all and after wards we had fun watching some old video tape of us all. It is amazing how FAST time flies and HOW MUCH people change with age. We had some great laughs with the videotapes. It was SO CUTE every time Nathan recognized me as a little girl and a young teenager. Can you say BIG TIME ego boost?!
The food was GREAT. The family time was GREAT. And the best part? Austin deciding to NOT poop and puke everywhere during our Thanksgiving dinner. He is my ULTIMATE hero for doing all of that fun stuff right before and right after dinner.
He rocks and so does his poop now. Literally.
PS Nathan AND Austin didn't eat a darn thing ALL NIGHT. They don't know what they missed out on!
